Creating iFeatures

· iFeatures are like Autocad wblocks

· Stored in separate files

· Create iFeature

· Assign equations to iFeature parameters

· Save to catalog

· Open existing file and insert iFeature

· Edit inserted iFeature parameters

· Open des_001.ipt

· Tools > Extract iFeature

· Change values to formulas in Extract iFeature dialog box

· Save to new folder: Extrusions

· Catalog now contains new folder with HexHead iFeature in it

· File name extension: .ide

· Change iFeature folder location

· Tools > Application Options > iFeature Tab

· Insert iFeature

· Open des_002.ipt

· Click Insert iFeature tool

· Click front face of shaft

· Feature gets attached to shaft

· Zoom in, click crosshairs to move

· Click again to place

· Modify Parameter Value

· Click Next in Insert iFeature dialog box

· Change hex_e to 5 mm

· Click Refresh to view changes
