Align (move and rotate) several objects.

Command: ac + enter

Pick two points as shown.

Now, select the entities to move

and align with the destination line.

 

 

 

 

Aligning text horizontally, left justified.

Command: y6 + enter

First, select the text to align to.

Next, select text entities to align.

 

 

 

 

Aligning text on top of a line.

Command: t6 + enter

First, select text to align.

Pick point on line as shown.

Note: Picking the point near the

other end of the line will align

selected text below the line.

 

Aligning text vertically, left justified.

Command: 6y + enter

First, select the text to align to.

Next, select text entities to align.

 

 

 

 

Aligning text with the end point of a line, left side.

Command: r5 + enter

Make sure the line to align with is

the last line in the drawing.

Select the text to align.

 

 

 

Aligning text with the end point of a line, right side.

Command: r6 + enter

Make sure the line to align with is

the last line in the drawing.

Select the text to align.

 

 

Breaking text at word number.

Command: bw + enter

Select the text to break at its word number.

At the prompt enter 2, to break selected

text after the second word.

 

 

Centerline between two parallel lines.

Command: ccn + enter

Select two parallel lines.

 

 

 

 

Checking the distance (length) and angle of a line.

Command: da + enter

Pick a line to find its length and angle.

The following two lines are displayed at the command prompt:

Distance: 1.4139", 1 1/2", 35.9128mm

Angle: 185.6653   Angle with xy plane:  0

This sets distance variable d to the length of the line

and angle variable a to the angle of the line.

The angle of the line is the angle from the point picked to the nearest end of the line.

 

 

Copying an attribute or text value to another

attribute or text.

Command: fa + enter

Select an attribute to copy its value.

Select another attribute to copy to.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dimensioning a line with one pick.

Command y7 + enter

Pick the line as shown.

Picking a point near the other

end of the line creates the

dimension on the other side.

 

 

 

Dimensioning the last line in the drawing.

Command: y77 + enter

The side on which the dimension is added

depends on the direction of the line.

The line in the figure was drawn from

left to right.

Reversing the line with r4 and then using

y77 will dimension the line on the other side.

 

 

Drawing a circle using an existing line

as its diameter.

Command: cdd + enter

Select a line to draw a circle.

 

 

 

 

Drawing a half circle using an existing line.

Command: hc + enter

Select a line to draw a half circle.

Picking a point closer to the other

end draws the half circle on other side.

 

 

Drawing a leader starting with a near point.

Command: qw + enter

Pick two points as shown to draw

the leader.

 

 

 

 

Drawing a horizontal line at view center of length d.

Command: sd + enter + 1 + enter

This sets the distance variable d to 1".

Command: hv + enter

Draws a horizontal line at viewcenter, 1" long.

 

 

Drawing a line of a specified length and angle.

Command: sd + enter + 1 + enter

Sets the distance variable d to 1".

Command: de + enter + 30 + enter

Sets angle variable a to 30˚.

Command: dg + enter

Draws a line 1" long and at angle 30˚.

 

 

Drawing a rectangle using the last line

in the drawing, left side.

Uses distance d as the other length of

the rectangle.

Command: sd + enter + 0.5 + enter

Sets distance variable d to 0.5".

Command: kh + enter

Draws the desired rectangle.

 

 

Drawing a rectangle using the last line

in the drawing, right side.

Uses distance d as the other length of

the rectangle.

Command: sd + enter + 0.5 + enter

Sets distance variable d to 0.5".

Command: hk + enter

Draws the desired rectangle.

 

Drawing lines equal to the line picked.

Command: eq + enter

Select a line to draw other lines equal to.

Select other lines as shown.

 

 

 

 

Edit an attribute without a dialog box.

Command: ea + enter

Select the attribute to edit.

At the prompt enter the new value:

"1-B" for the attribute.

 

 

First word in a text entity to last word

in another text entity, (Word Up).

Command: upp + enter

Select text to delete the last word from.

Select another line of text to add deleted

word to.

 

Horizontal dimension.

Command: dh + enter

Pick three points as shown.

The first two points you pick snap to the

nearest quadrant, end point, or intersection.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joining two text entities, left justified.

Command: jt + enter

Select the two text entities to join.

 

 

 

Last word in text to another line of text,

(Word Down).

Command: dnn + enter

Select text to delete the last word from.

Select another line of text to add deleted

word to.

 

 

Mirror across a line.

Command: mii + enter

First, pick the line to use to mirror across.

Select objects to mirror.

 

 

 

Offsetting the last line in the drawing

to a distance d, left side.

Command: sd + enter + 0.5 + enter

Sets distance variable d to 1/2".

Command: jh + enter

Offsets last line by 1/2", left side.

 

 

 

Offsetting the last line in the drawing

to a distance d, right side.

Command: sd + enter + 0.5 + enter

Sets distance variable d to 1/2".

Command: hj + enter

Offsets last line by 1/2", right side.

 

 

 

Select and align one entity with another.

Command: e5 + enter

Select two points as shown.

This moves the rectangle and aligns

it with the destination line.

 

 

 

Select and move from end point.

Command: ge + enter

The first pick selects the entity

and starts moving it from its end point.

The second pick selects the nearest

end point to move selected line to.

 

 

Select and move from mid point.

Command: gm + enter

The first pick selects the entity

and starts moving it from its mid point.

The second pick selects the nearest

mid point to move selected rectangle to.

 

 

 

Set Crosshairs

Command: xh + enter

Pick a point on the line as shown

to align crosshairs to the angle of

the line.

 

 

 

Text to center of bubble.

Command: tb + enter

First, select the text to move

to the center of bubble.

Next, pick any point on bubble.

 

 

Vertical dimension.

Command: dvv + enter

Pick three points as shown.

The first two points you pick snap to the

nearest quadrant, end point, or intersection.

 

 

 

Stretching (distance d) in opposite directions

to snapangle.

Command: sd + enter + 0.25 + enter.

Sets distance variable d to 0.25".

Command: xh + enter

First pick sets snapangle.

(same as crosshairs).

Command: hy + enter

Make two crossing window selections as shown.
